Chapter 3: Be Misunderstood—and Okay With It

Let’s be real: not everyone will get you. Not everyone will support your growth. And not everyone is meant to.

When you start changing your patterns, setting boundaries, speaking differently, or showing up with new confidence—people will notice. Some will cheer. Some will get uncomfortable. Some might distance themselves. And that’s okay.

You are not here to be understood by everyone. You are here to be true to yourself.

You Don’t Owe Them an Explanation

Your healing, your evolution, your transformation—it’s personal. And sometimes, it’s lonely. You’ll reach a point in your journey where trying to make others comfortable with your growth will shrink you back into the version of yourself you’ve outgrown.

Don’t explain your peace. Don’t defend your boundaries. Don’t negotiate your becoming.

What if the misunderstanding is part of your freedom?

Being Held Hostage by Others’ Opinions

When you care too much about being understood, you start molding yourself to meet other people’s expectations. You dull your light so you’re not “too much.” You avoid bold moves so you’re not “doing too much.”

That’s not humility. That’s self-abandonment.

Growth requires risking misunderstanding. Choosing your path even when others don’t see the vision. And reminding yourself that their confusion has nothing to do with your clarity.

You are not meant to be digestible. You are meant to be unshakable.
